Link the Actors, Actions, and Entities to your Key Objectives with metrics. Use the same diagrams you created in Step 2.
-
Identify the actions where an actor achieves one of their key objectives. Place the target (🎯) icon and add a small note to describe it.
- These objectives must be easily related to the value propositions you defined for your system. Identify goals for each actor (e.g., customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, conversion rates). Ensure you also add your system’s goals (sales, subscriptions, non-functionals, etc.).
- Use wording similar to that used in the High-Level Diagram (Step 1). Ideally, use links to your business plan where the value proposition is described in more detail.
-
In the Metrics Swimlane, add at least one metric per objective 🎯that you identified before (Key Objective Metrics). Give it a descriptive name. For more clarity, you can add a note and use the entities to define how they’re measured.
-
You can optionally add other metrics that don’t directly measure your system’s goals but support them or provide insights into its performance (System Metrics).
